Cancellation and Refund Policy

Delta Air Lines provides flexible cancellation and refund options, ensuring convenience for its passengers. Below are the key points of their policy:

Cancellation Policy

24-Hour Cancellation Rule

Passengers can cancel their Delta Air Lines booking within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund, provided the flight was booked directly with Delta and the scheduled departure is at least 24 hours away.

Non-Refundable Tickets

After the 24-hour window, non-refundable tickets can still be canceled. The remaining value of the ticket (minus applicable cancellation fees) will be issued as an eCredit, which can be used toward a future Delta flight. Basic Economy fares, however, cannot be changed or refunded after purchase.

Refundable Tickets

Refundable tickets can be canceled anytime before departure for a full refund to the original form of payment, with no cancellation penalty.

How to Cancel

Visit the “My Trips” section on Delta’s official website or mobile app. Enter your booking details, select the flight you wish to cancel, and follow the prompts to request a refund or eCredit.

Refund Policy

Eligible Refunds

Refunds for eligible tickets are returned to the original method of payment. For credit card purchases, refunds typically take 7–10 business days to process.

Baggage Fees

If the flight is canceled by Delta: Prepaid baggage fees will be refunded automatically or credited toward your rebooked flight.

If you cancel the flight yourself: Prepaid baggage fees are generally non-refundable, unless your fare type or situation qualifies for an exception.
