Kansai International Airport (関西国際空港, Kansai Kokusai Kūkō, colloquially known as
Kankū (関空)) (IATA: KIX, ICAO: RJBB) serves as the primary international gateway
to the Greater Osaka Area and is the closest major airport to the cities of
Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe.
Situated on an artificial island (Kankūjima (関空島)) in Osaka Bay, off the coast
of Honshu, the airport features multiple 4,000-meter runways and operates 24
hours a day, meeting global aviation standards.
Kansai International Airport was officially inaugurated on 4 September 1994.
Located approximately 50 kilometers from central Osaka, the airport offers
convenient access via road, rail, and high-speed ferry connections. A range of
