Fukue Airport (IATA: FUJ, ICAO: RJFE), also known as Goto-Fukue Airport, is
a small regional airport located on Fukue Island in the Goto Islands group,
Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. Situated about 5 km northeast of Fukue City (Gotō
City), the airport serves as the main air gateway connecting the remote Goto
Islands with Kyushu’s mainland.
Facilities
The airport features a single terminal building designed for convenience and
simplicity. Facilities include a comfortable waiting area, vending machines,
restrooms, and car rental counters. There is a small souvenir shop selling
local Goto specialties, as well as an information desk for tourists. Free
Wi-Fi and accessible facilities are provided. Although limited in size, the
terminal offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere typical of regional
Japanese airports.
Airlines and Destinations
Oriental Air Bridge (ORC) operates regular domestic flights connecting Fukue
Airport with Nagasaki Airport and Fukuoka Airport. These short-haul services
are essential for residents and tourists traveling between the islands and
Kyushu’s major cities.
Public Transportation
Access to central Gotō City is available by local bus or taxi (around 10
minutes). Car rental is a popular choice for visitors exploring the island’s
beaches, historic churches, and scenic coastal routes, as public transport
is limited.
