Located in the centre of Osaka, Shinsaibashi is a large commercial shopping area
in Osaka. It is centered on Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street, from Nagahori
Street in the north and Dotonbori in the south.

There are many boutiques, specialty shops, restaurants and large shopping
malls here, which are bustling from morning till night, crowded with citizens
and tourists.
Apart from shopping and shopping, it is also a pleasure to taste authentic Osaka
cuisine. You can try Japanese dishes such as Osaka yaki, skewers, takoyaki, and
ramen, as well as taste the flavors of other countries in Asia, Europe and the
United States, etc. There are also entertainment facilities such as cinemas and
theaters, which is a good place to experience Osaka nightlife.
Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street is located near Shinsaibashi Station, and the
length of Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street in the north-south direction is about
600 meters. It has a closed and transparent arcade, and even if it is windy and
rainy, you can feel free to walk around. The stone sidewalks, British-style
street lights and rows of brick buildings are elegant in style, and are also
called "European Villages".
From large department stores, century-old stores to cheap stores, everything
from fashion, cosmetics, bags, jewelry, groceries, food, etc., it is very
suitable for tourism and shopping. You can also stroll around in the small
alleys next to Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street, and you will find some
interesting shops.
On the Dotonbori Ebibashi Bridge, two signs of "Snow Seal" and "Glico Runner"
with a history of nearly 100 years can be seen. They are the main symbol of
Shinsaibashi. Remember to take a group photo ("Hansawa Naoki" etc. Japanese
dramas have also been filmed here). Every night, colorful neon lights and
flickering billboards fill this place full of infinite vitality.
If you go to the north side of the station, you can reach the Nansenba area,
where there are many stores of world-famous brand, such as Cartier, Chanel,
Hermes and so on. Tokyu Hands Department Store has a huge selection of daily
groceries and stationery. There is also the CrystaNagahori underground street (CrystaNagahori),
which is a large and well-lit underground shopping street in Japan. Natural
light can shine in directly, creating a bright and comfortable shopping
environment.
To the south of the station is the Shinsaibashi branch of Daimaru Department
Store. It has nostalgic historic buildings and an elegant atmosphere. You can
buy not only many world-famous brands, but also many affordable daily
necessities. On the other side of the road, Shinsaibashi OPA is a famous fashion
shopping mall in Shinsaibashi, which has about 110 stores including fashion,
jewelry, shoes and hats, and cosmetics.
Continue south to Shuhocho Street, which is an east-west street, passing through
Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street and Midosuji Street. On both sides are elegant
European-style clothing stores, unique cafes, restaurants, etc. The atmosphere
of the whole neighborhood is elegant and quiet. It is nice to go shopping, drink
coffee and enjoy the street view here.
On the west side of Shinsaibashi is the American Village, which is home to many
eclectic fashion clothing stores, thrift stores, record stores, and various
clubs and other entertainment facilities. There are rich in New York street
culture, where western-style girls who wearing hot pants and hip-hop teenagers
can be seen everywhere, representing the fashion culture of Osaka youth.
Walk south along the Shinsaibashisuji shopping street until the end, and you
will reach Dotonbori. This is the birthplace of Osaka’s “eating and lying” food
culture. There are many restaurants at reasonable prices and they are very
popular. The famous Kani Doraku crab restaurant’s "great crab signboard" is the
symbol of Dotonbori Food Street, you must try the delicious food of this
restaurant. Although most restaurants do not have large facades, the quality of
the food will not be reduced.
