Kitakyushu Airport (IATA: KKJ, ICAO: RJFR) is located on an artificial
island in Suo-nada Sea, about 36 km southeast of Kitakyushu City in Fukuoka
Prefecture, Japan. Opened in 2006, it operates 24 hours a day and serves as
a key air gateway for northern Kyushu, handling both domestic and
international flights.

such as restaurants, cafés, souvenir shops, convenience stores, and free

Public Transportation
Airport limousine buses connect Kitakyushu Airport to Kokura Station in
about 40 minutes. From Kokura, travelers can easily reach Fukuoka,
Hiroshima, and other Kyushu cities by Shinkansen. Taxis and car rental
services are available, and parking at the airport is free for short
durations—making it a convenient choice for regional travel.
