Narita International Airport (IATA: NRT, ICAO: RJAA) is located about 60 km
east of central Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture. It is Japan’s largest
international gateway, handling a major share of the country’s long-haul and
overseas traffic. Opened in 1978, Narita complements Haneda Airport by
focusing on international routes and cargo operations.
Facilities
Narita has three passenger terminals (T1, T2, and T3). Each terminal offers
a wide range of facilities, including restaurants, duty-free shops, lounges,
currency exchange, prayer rooms, nursing areas, and free Wi-Fi. Terminal 3
caters mainly to low-cost carriers with a budget-friendly design. Shuttle
buses and walkways connect the terminals. Additional services include
capsule hotels, car rentals, and baggage delivery counters.
Airlines and Destinations
Narita hosts major international airlines such as
All
Nippon Airways (ANA),
Japan Airlines (JAL), Singapore Airlines,
Emirates,
British Airways,
Delta
Air Lines,
Qatar Airways and more. Flights connect to destinations across Asia, Europe,
North America, Oceania, and the Middle East, along with domestic routes to
cities like Sapporo, Fukuoka, and Okinawa.
Public Transportation

Skyliner, reaching central Tokyo in about 40–60 minutes. Buses, taxis, and
car rentals are also available, providing convenient access throughout the
Kanto region.
