Delayed Baggage

If your baggage is delayed, follow these simple steps with Japan Airlines:

  1. Report the Delay: Go to the Japan Airlines baggage counter at the airport to report your missing baggage. Fill out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).

  2. Track Your Baggage: You will receive a tracking number to check the status of your delayed baggage.

  3. Delivery or Pickup: Once found, Japan Airlines will deliver your baggage to your address or request you to pick it up at the airport.

  4. Compensation: If your baggage is delayed for an extended period, you may be eligible for compensation. Keep receipts for any necessary purchases (toiletries, clothing, etc.).

  5. Claim Period: Claims for delayed baggage must be made within 21 days from the date your baggage is made available.

Damaged Baggage

If your baggage is damaged, follow these steps to report the issue with Japan Airlines:

  1. Report Damage at the Airport: If you notice damage to your baggage upon arrival, report it to Japan Airlines staff at the airport before leaving.

  2. Report After Leaving the Airport: If damage is noticed after leaving the airport, report it to the arrival airport within 7 days of receiving your baggage.

  3. Damaged Baggage Inquiry Form (For International Flights Only):

Passengers arriving at Tokyo International Airport (Haneda), Narita International Airport, Kansai International Airport, or Chubu Centrair International Airport can submit a Damaged Baggage Inquiry Form online via Japan Airlines website.

  4. Note: For international connecting flights or domestic flights, contact the respective airport directly.
