New Chitose Airport (IATA: CTS, ICAO: RJCC) is located about 45 km south of Sapporo, in Chitose City, Hokkaido, Japan. It is the largest airport in Hokkaido and one of Japan’s busiest, serving as the main gateway to the island’s famous ski resorts, natural parks, and hot spring towns.

The airport features domestic and international terminals connected by a walkway. It offers an impressive range of amenities, including restaurants, cafés, shopping malls, souvenir stores, and the popular New Chitose Airport Onsen (hot spring spa). Other services include free Wi-Fi, currency exchange, lounges, car rental counters, nursing rooms, and observation decks. The JR Rapid Airport train links New Chitose Airport with Sapporo Station in about 40 minutes. Airport buses, taxis, and car rentals are also available, offering convenient access to destinations across Hokkaido, including Niseko, Otaru, and Furano.
